The detail on this piece is awesome. I love the folds of the clothing, the little designs all over the straps even the way the hood connects so well to the shirt without completely taking out the lines of the side of the neck and the jaw bone. The position is nice but I agree with the previous critique before mine that the bottom hand could use a little improvement as far as position went. Poor little girl looks upset over something... Makes the viewer want to jump in and huggle her. But then again curiosity was never a good thing when it came to cats... I think.
My ratings:
Vision 5/5- It's a very nice pieces to pick apart and see every little detail. In skill, she has a ton to show off and she surely did with this anthro!
Originality 5/5- Speaks for itself!
Technique 4.5/5- Minor detail like the hand took off a few points. Other than that it's awesome. <3
Impact 5/5- There are a lot of things we can learn from...this is one of them. She combines human and lion traits well and if one wants to make an attempt, taking a good look at this picture is a good idea.
Nice character design you have here. I really like her outfit, the hood connecting to her shirt is well done, and she has a really nice expression on her face. It makes me wonder what she's thinking about, looking so sad. :] The gesture is also really nice, I think you're off to a good start with it.
The main thing I'm seeing is anatomy related. The way she's sitting seems a little bit unnatural to me. The way her legs are situated right now, it's not clear if she's sitting or if she's kneeling. If she's sitting, you may want to consider moving her tail up a bit - sitting on a tail that way would be pretty uncomfortable, I'm sure. : )
If she's kneeling, I'd suggest "flattening" out the bottom of the leg closest to us a bit so that it's resting along the ground rather than going upward at an angle. You may also want to consider showing some of the foot coming out from behind her knee, either way - it looks like it's vanishing into her leg at the moment.
Her hands also feel a little wobbly. If you can, the easiest thing to do is to just grab a broom and hold it in that position, and see how your hands fall. Right now, the hands don't really feel like they're "gripping" the stick, especially the one on the bottom. It's a little too circular. On the top hand, in order for her knuckles to be turned toward her face like that, she would need to be holding her wrist in a very uncomfortable angle. We should probably see more of her thumb and first knuckles.
You're off to a really good start, I'd love to see you push it just a little further. : ) Nice work!
